Swinemoor Graduate Awards Programme

Units of study:
About the programme
Swinemoor Primary School’s curriculum was described by OFSTED in 2011, 2017 and again in 2023 as Outstanding.
This is due in no small part to innovation and constant improvement. In order to enhance the curriculum further a knowledge based SPS Graduate Awards Programme has been developed by the School.
Swinemoor School’s enviable reputation as top education league table performer in Beverley and beyond is achieved because our children receive an outstanding grounding in basic skills, including reading, writing, spelling, grammar, mathematical understanding and confidence in the expressive arts.
This knowledge-based Graduate Awards Programme is designed to compliment this and appeal to the children’s scholarly aspirations.
Children who wish to become Graduates in the available study topics can elect to study at home and in school during their own time, taking the Graduate Test when they know they are ready.
Upon graduation, they will receive a badge which they can wear on their school uniform with pride.
This will further demonstrate to their peers, parents, school visitors and the wider community just how dedicated they are to their studies.
“The school’s knowledge-based graduate award programme is at the heart of the school’s success.
Alongside the outstanding curriculum, pupils choose to study a graduate award subject syllabus at home or at school in their own time.
When they are ready, they take the graduate test.
Pupils are incredibly proud of the award, and their excitement and aspiration to do well are tangible.”
