Religious Education Vision
Our School Aims perfectly capture our Vision for RE.
Achieve beyond expectations –
Every year, pupils build up to producing a piece of RE portfolio work that is, where possible, of a standard higher than that at which they would regularly work.
Be proud of our community, our school, our achievements and our peers –
RE is celebrated with pride in Friday Celebration Assemblies, when RE Graduates are regularly rewarded. Children’s RE homework is rewarded with golden stickers, which are displayed with pride.
Compete, with the belief that we have every chance of success –
University Challenge, on the final week of the school year, includes RE Graduates who compete for a trophy.
Develop a culture where we take appropriate risk, understanding this is how people learn, grow and achieve things they thought were too difficult –
RE lessons regularly include reflection on pupil’s own, and other’s beliefs. There is an element of risk, as faith is a very important part of an individual’s life and to share and reflect on those and other beliefs leads to an element of personal and societal exposure.
Enable people to work together, in order to achieve more than we could on our own – RE lessons regularly include paired and group work and discussion.
