PSHE Vision
Our School Aims perfectly capture our Vision for PSHE.
Achieve beyond expectations –
Every year, pupils build up to producing a piece of PHSE Portfolio work that is, where possible, of a standard higher than that at which they would regularly work.
Be proud of our community, our school, our achievements and our peers –
PHSE is celebrated with pride in Friday Celebration Assemblies, when PHSE Graduates are regularly rewarded. Children’s PHSE homework is rewarded with golden stickers, which are displayed with pride. Children participate in a weekly ‘Jigsaw’ assembly where children respectfully listen and celebrate their peers achievements, thoughts and ideas.
Compete, with the belief that we have every chance of success –
University Challenge, on the final week of the school year, includes PHSE Graduates who compete for a trophy.
Develop a culture where we take appropriate risk, understanding this is how people learn, grow and achieve things they thought were too difficult –
PHSE lessons regularly include reflection on pupil’s own, and other’s feelings and ideas. There is an element of risk, as PHSE is a very important part of an individual’s life and to share and reflect leads to an element of personal and societal exposure.
Enable people to work together, in order to achieve more than we could on our own –
PHSE lessons regularly include paired and group work.
