Learning numbers to five
Last week in Miss Overton’s class pupils have been focusing on learning numbers to five.
They have done this by looking at nursery rhymes which have numbers in them.
They have been learning to sing nursery rhymes such as ‘Humpty Dumpty’, ‘Two Little Dickie Birds’, ‘Three Blind Mice’, ‘Four Little Monkeys’ and ‘Five Currant Buns’.
They have also practised counting up to the number five and learning the number’s formation when writing it down.
On the craft table, they have used fabric, feathers, pompoms and buttons to create some of the characters from the rhymes. They needed to cut and stick and describe the texture.
The children have had lots of fun doing this work.
