Computing Vision
Our School Aims perfectly capture our Vision for Computing.
Achieve beyond expectations –
For two terms of the school year, pupils build up to producing a piece of Computing or E-Safety Portfolio work that is, where possible, of a standard higher than that at which they would regularly work.
Be proud of our community, our school, our achievements and our peers –
Computing is celebrated with pride in Friday Celebration Assemblies, when Computing Graduates are regularly rewarded. E-Safety draws on a child’s importance in their community and how to keep respectful and safe online.
Compete, with the belief that we have every chance of success –
University Challenge, on the final week of the school year, includes Computing Graduates who compete for a trophy
Develop a culture where we take appropriate risk, understanding this is how people learn, grow and achieve things they thought were too difficult –
The use of digital technology and the widening abilities of working online come with risks, which the children learn about regularly. The children begin every computing lesson with a discussion about E-Safety and how to stay safe online. They also learn about hardware, and the importance of safe work practice when using electronic devices.
Enable people to work together, in order to achieve more than we could on our own –
Computing lessons regularly include paired and group work
