Tetrahedron Building

On Thursday 11th September, Mrs Wilson’s morning group took part in an exciting maths challenge.  They worked in groups to build a giant tetrahedron in the hall using sticks and elastic bands.

A tetrahedron is a triangular based pyramid. It has four sides and four vertices.

At first they made a little one each then they attached some together. When they had made four big ones they joined all four together into one large shape and it was almost 4 metres TALL!!

The children really enjoyed it and they learnt a lot about team work.
