Measuring in Year 1/2
Last week, the children in both Year 1/2 classes have been working on developing their measuring skills in their maths lessons.
The children in Year 2 have been measuring different objects in both centimetres and metres. They have learnt to use a ruler accurately.
Some of the Year 1 pupils have been using their language to discuss and compare the length of items around the classroom.
They have been practising words such as ‘longer’, ‘shorter’,’ longest’ and ‘shortest’.
The rest of Year 1 have been measuring using everyday items such as pencils, leaves, cubes, paper clips and counters.
All the children have enjoyed doing this work.
