Harvest Festival – Key Stage 2

On Thursday 25th September children in Key Stage 2 celebrated Harvest with an assembly in the school hall. Lots of families came to watch and support.

The assembly started with an African chant led by members of the Chamber Choir. This was followed by groups of Year 5/6 children reciting poems in unison.

The poems were all well-known poems describing Autumn. All of the children worked together to listen to each other and keep the rhythm of the poem whilst using clear voices to project the words.

Towards the end of the service, the Chamber Choir performed a special Harvest song about the farmers growing the crops.
They sang beautifully.

Our special guest Anthony was talking to us about thanking people for our food and reminding us to say thank you to God for our food and crops.
The audience were very impressed by the whole assembly. They showed their appreciation with lots of rapturous applause after each item.
