Harvest Festival (Foundation and KS1)
On Wednesday 24th September children in Key Stage One and Foundation performed their Harvest Festival assembly. This was the first time that they have celebrated separately from the older children.
They began with a rousing African chant to thank God for the Harvest. Then each class performed to their parents and families.
Miss Stanley’s class recited a poem in unison. It was called ‘Thank you for the Harvest’. They listened carefully to each other to keep in time and used clear and loud voices.
Mrs Jackson’s class sang a lovely song where each verse began with a letter from the word ‘Harvest’. Charlie Gould, a year one pupil, sang a beautiful solo!
Children in Foundation Stage, sang a song called ‘The Harvest Table, and some of them carried food to the school Harvest display whilst the others were singing. These children did really well because it was their first time performing in front of an audience as they have only been at school for a few weeks.
All of the children sang really well and the audience thought it was fantastic!
